Settling tanks are used to clarify and filter out honey that has been extracted from frames. When filling, you may use a sieve to filter out any large impurities. Then let the honey settle undisturbed for 24 to 48 hours and gravity will pull heavier particles to the bottom while lighter particles and air bubbles rise to the top. These tanks can also be used to store honey until honey is ready to be bottled. Drain the honey from the tank into bottles or containers using the honey gate at the bottom. This 5.5 gallon tank can hold approximately 60lbs of honey and fits on countertops easily. This is the perfect settling tank for small operations and hobbyist beekeepers.
