Is Pierco going away?

Pierco and Acorn have joined together as Acorn Pierco. Customers will continue receiving the trusted products and support they know, now under one company and brand.

Where are Acorn Pierco frames and foundations made?

Acorn Pierco makes their products in beautiful Southern California, in the United States of America. We remain committed to American manufacturing and dependable products for commercial, sideliner and backyard beekeepers.

Where will Acorn Pierco operate?

Will Acorn Pierco have a retail store for local beekeepers?

We hope to provide more information about local shopping and pickup options in the future. At this time, customers should place orders at www.acornpierco.com for delivery.

Will I receive Pierco or Acorn frames and foundation?

Pierco and Acorn frames and foundation have been produced to the same specifications for years. Acorn Pierco will use the newest available tooling and molds to continue producing the best products possible.

Why did I receive a Pierco- or Acorn-labeled box?

During the transition, orders may arrive in existing Pierco or Acorn packaging. This may continue for approximately three to five months while we use our current box inventory. The packaging may look different, but the product inside meets Acorn Pierco standards.

I previously ordered Heavy Wax or Extra Heavy Wax. Why don't I see those options anymore?

Only the names have changed:

• Standard Wax is now Single Wax
• Heavy Wax is now Double Wax
• Extra Heavy Wax is now Triple Wax

What happened to free shipping?

With shipping costs continuing to rise, Acorn Pierco has adopted Acorn's pricing approach: lower product prices with shipping charged separately.

The best way to lower your overall delivered cost is to order pallet quantities of 16 cases or more. Call (800) 233-2662 or email info@acornpierco.com for a freight quote.

Can I still order the same frame sizes, colors and wax levels?

Yes. Acorn Pierco will continue offering its core frame and foundation options. Some names, part numbers or packaging may change during the transition.

Will Acorn Pierco products work with the equipment I already use?

Yes. The transition does not change the standard dimensions or intended use of our frames and foundation.

Will product numbers change?

Some part numbers may change as we combine the Acorn and Pierco product lines. Our team can help identify the correct Acorn Pierco replacement for a previous item number.

Can I still purchase products through my current dealer?

Yes. Acorn Pierco products will continue to be available through participating beekeeping-equipment dealers. Product selection and availability may vary by dealer.

What happens to my existing order or backorder?

Existing orders and backorders are still being processed. If the transition affects availability, shipping or timing, our team will contact you.

I have worked with the same go-to person for years. Will they still be available?

Yes. John, Aaron and Patricia will continue to be your go-to contacts for anything related to Acorn Pierco.

Will pricing change?

Are plastic frames safe to use during honey production? Will my honey be safe?

We know that the quality of your honey matters to you, which means it matters to us. At Acorn Pierco we hold ourselves to a higher standard. We use our proprietary blend of FDA compliant, food-grade, BPA-free plastic, which means your honey is completely safe.

I just bought Acorn Pierco drone frames — now, how do I use them?

Can I clean my Acorn Pierco frames and foundations?

Can I recycle my frames and foundations once I am done with them?

Of course! The staff here at Acorn Pierco cares for the environment as much as you do. As a result we have made sure to use only recyclable, code 6 plastic.

Note: some recycling facilities may not accept used or waxed frames and foundations due to their bee, insect, wax and burr comb content. If they are not accepted as is, you may need to thoroughly clean them first — see our frame cleaning instructions.

How do Acorn Pierco frames perform in hot, humid, or cold climates?

Your products should work quite well, even in the hottest, dampest, or coldest conditions. At Acorn Pierco, we strive for excellence. This means we have thoroughly tested our products in many different conditions to ensure we are producing the best product for our customers. Our frames are built to withstand temperatures of 210°F. Steam forms at 212°F, therefore our frames will begin to distort or deflect when subjected to these conditions for extended periods of time.

Is there a difference between the black and white frames and foundations?

No, the two products are exactly the same with the exception of their color. However, some people prefer the black, claiming it is easier to see the larvae in the frames. On the other hand, many of our customers have no preference.

Why is the drone frame colored green?

Here at Acorn Pierco, we like to try to make life easy on you. We colored the drone frame green so you can quickly identify it in the hive.
