This beginner-friendly tangential honey extractor features a side-mounted handle providing greater comfort than other hand crank extractors without sacrificing efficiency. Made of high quality acid-resistant stainless steel, this machine will last for many years and works best for beekeepers with anywhere from one to a dozen hives.
A unique cast steel worm gear drive allows the basket to freewheel when you stop cranking, without the handle spinning. The gearbox features a brake that is applied by gentle backwards pressure on the crank, similar to a cruiser bicycle, to slow the basket down when it is time to flip or remove the frames. The tangential extraction quickly removes honey from each side of the frame; just flip the frames mid-cycle to extract from the second side.

I use these for yellow jacket nest removal in conjunction with a full 3-layer ventilated bee suit. Sleevelets are a light weight cotton material, so maybe not sting-proof on their own but over the sleeves of my suit, the light material is less hot than my old gauntlets with heavy canvas. The stiff gauntlet has plenty of room to fit over the elastic cuffs of my suit. This also puts the ventilated section further up my forearm so there's bee suit under it. This is important to me because I have been stung through the vents on my old gloves, which sat below the suit cuff. The leather feels sturdy and supple and dexterity was good. I typically wear a medium to a large glove and these seem true to size. A medium fits a little snug, but I believe the leather will break in to be perfect and provide good dexterity.

Pierco plastic frame is the best! I've been using them since 2012. They are easy to clean and last for many years and best of all the Bees love them. I have tried others, but the bees don't take to them like they do these. I won't buy any other .

Great experience always. I have ordered several boxes of new triple wax frame's just this year. I have many hives and they are all Pierco triple wax frame's Bees build out wax quickly. Btw - just like everyone else, I am busy and these frames save time for me from having to apply wax myself.
